AT SCHOOL OF EMOTIONS
IF YOU ARE …
IF YOU LEARN THE BEST THROUGH…
WE ALL HAVE EMOTIONS!
Every human being experiences emotions, but many of us do not understand them. And why would we? Most of us were never taught what emotions are or how they can help us. From one perspective this is an incredible opportunity to develop an essential part of every human. Traditional literacy has become an expectation of any educated person and, through it, we have gained the ability to share information and stories, speed learning and develop thinking. Emotional Literacy is the new frontier for the development of human capacity and will reshape human life as profoundly.
In personal relationships, leadership, teamwork, coaching, and education emotions are essential. They are fundamentally the energy that generates all action. Understanding emotions in a practical way, knowing how to listen for them, discovering that we can name and shift them are all part of emotional literacy. These are what we teach and the purpose of the School of Emotions.

What people are saying
I used to feel guilt because emotions I considered “bad,” such as anxiety and fear, showed up very often in my life. ‘The Unopened Gift’ opened up the possibilities of befriending my emotions. I feel liberated now because it taught me that having those so-called “bad” emotions is not a limitation.
With this book, Dan and Lucy masterfully unveil our blindness around emotions. The book provides a powerful, actionable reconstruction of what emotions mean and how to distinguish between different emotions. I have seen no other book on emotions like this one
Our work on emotions has been instrumental in fostering a culture of trust and stability in our school district. It is because of this learning that we have become a resilient, compassionate organization characterized by understanding each other first, then celebrating our growth and results.

All in all, I loved everything I learned as I see how transformational for my clients this can be.
Dan’s workshop has opened up a whole new dimension of coaching to me. Emotions mostly get a bad rap in our culture. They’re considered wild and unpredictable, the antithesis of logic, and certainly not welcome at work. Dan teaches an entirely different perspective.
Dan creates immense value – far beyond the reach of one’s own imagination. The emotions workshop was an amazing opportunity for learning and growth, personally and professionally. Dan is an incredible coach and teacher and it was truly an honor to participate in the program.
Dan’s leadership and insightful facilitation in this powerful workshop opened the door to emotions as a powerful leadership resource. If all leaders could uncover their hidden emotions in a safe, strategic manner such as this it would be of enormous benefit to them and their stakeholders.
The “Coaching to Emotions” workshop was an incredible week of learning and growth. The setting was beautiful and the rhythm of the course was perfect. Prior to the workshop, I was hesitant to bring up “emotions” with the leaders that I coach – after all, many of them are in
